Lord Shani son of Surya

Lord Shani was son of Surya(Sun) dev and his mother was chaya(Shadow).His Brothers name was Yam and Yamuna is his sister. He was Naughty and Caper in his childhood. He didn't get along with his brother and sister.

After getting young Surya dev distributed different realm to his sons, but Lord Shani was not happy on his father. He sought to rule the whole kingdom of Surya dev.So Shani Dev Started Praying to Lord Brahma, When Lord Brahma was pleased Shani Dev was granted a wish.Shani dev asked him to gave him power of good vision and brutal vision.So good vision will bring wellness and brutal vision will bring disaster to whom his vision will be.Lord Brahma agreed and gave him his wish.

.Lord Shani used his power to capture his brother's realm
and ruled over entire kingdom.Then his brother approached Lord Shiva, he told him about Shani Dev and asked him to interfere.So Lord Shiva called Shani dev and told him that, he had huge power granted by Brahma.Why are you wasting it You should utilize this power for humanity. Then Shani Dev realised his mistake and asked Shiva, What should he do now? then Lord Shiva distributed word between him and his brother Yamraj, Yamraj will take life of those people whose age has finished and Lord Shani will punish mankind according to their karma.He was also given power that nobody could escape from his brutal vision even Lord Shiva himself.

Most of the people always ask a question that How to please Shani Dev? Answer: Pleasing factors are as follows: 1. If devotees don't find any temple near by them then there is a simple way to worship Lord Shani Dev is to plat Basil tree,Peepal tree . At every Saturday put Diya which contains Mustard Oil or Sesame Oil in Evening and offer water to Basil or Peepal Tree as shown in figure.
